Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Where can I sleep?
A: Unfortunately we cannot provide organised accommodation, even for students of H.H. Karmapa arriving from abroad. Therefore, we strongly advise everyone to book a hotel or hostel as soon as possible. Please be aware that the Olympic Games will be taking place soon afterwards, and the centre of town will be very busy.

Q: Can I bring children?
A: There will be no creche available for the teachings, for full guidance on children attending teachings please view the Guidelines for Children.

Q: Can I buy a ticket in advance?
A: Tickets will be available on the door and registration is not required. Ticket sales are cash only. However, until 13:00 Friday 13th July, you can reserve tickets online to be collected at the event.

Q: Who gets concession price for tickets?
A: Students, the retired, and the unemployed can get tickets at the reduced price. Please bring proof of status with you to buy or collect tickets. Children under 14 are free of charge (please note the guidelines if you want to bring children.

Q: Will the events be translated?
A: All teachings will be given in English. There will not be translation for these events.

Q: How do I get to/from the airport to the city and how long does it take?
A: For specific journeys on public transportation in London, see the Transport for London Journey Planner. For transfer information and journey times to and from London’s major airports, see the websites for Heathrow Airport, Stansted Airport, and Gatwick Airport.

Q: Where is the venue?
